Service Panel Upgrades

Here are a few questions to consider that will help you decide if it’s time to upgrade your electrical panel:

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, then it might be time to give us a call.

So what exactly is a main electrical panel?

electrical panel boxThe main panel in your home is the primary power source that distributes electricity to the branch circuits throughout your home. Upgrading your old fuse panel or just want a bigger electrical panel? No problem, we’ve got you covered. We specialize in service upgrades from fuses to breakers. We do all services; underground, mast & overhead, it doesn’t matter. We'll get it done right the first time from 60 amp, 100 amp, 200 amp & 400 amp.

We also install sub panels, and cover electrical repairs such as the following:

Your homes electrical system needs a main panel to evenly distribute the power supply down to the branch circuits. Your panel may need updating due to limitations of space when adding circuits or they still have fuses. It isn’t uncommon to run into DIY panel jobs where circuits have been added and maxed out, or they are of inferior quality and simply need replacing. Upgrading your service is recommended to increase capacity and ensure the safety of your home. Think about it this way. With all the new power demands we have today, older homes with older panels just aren’t sufficient to power those appliances with increased demand. This may mean an upgrade to your electric panel.

Our electricians use only the highest quality panels and every panel we install comes with a warranty. Wouldn’t you like to know you have a new panel that can not only handle the electrical load of your household, but will also last up to 30-40 years and be trouble free?

The benefits of upgrading from an old fuse panel to a circuit breaker

Just in case you weren’t sure, most insurance companies won’t insure your home when they find out a home they provide a policy for has a fuse panel, and recommend the panel be changed to a breaker panel system instead. It comes down to safety and the ability of the circuit to maintain power without overheating and causing a fire. Wires and amps can only handle so much, and the potential for fire exists when overheated wires running through wood studs get burned out. This is the main reason insurance companies like panel breakers over fuses.

He was helpful and the service amazing. His team is made of true professionals. They were cost effective and all the work came in on budget. This is the 3rd time I have dealt with Kevin and I will use him for all of our office renos and projects. I have taken his card and will use him for my home!
